Recovery and Aftercare

There is little to no downtime with Hyperdilute Radiesse. Most patients return to work and normal activities the same day. To reduce swelling or bruising, we generally recommend:

Avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours
Waiting until the next day to apply makeup, creams & sunscreen.
Allowing a few days for any mild swelling or tenderness to subside
Avoid dental visits and vaccinations for two weeks.
Dr. Rubinstein has found that taking oral collagen with peptides (ProtGold or Juven recommended) helps in the stimulation effects.

The thinner skinned areas such as in the neck and hands respond better to Hyperdilute Radiesse. One additional differentiator is the mechanism of action. Sculptra relies on the body’s inflammatory response to produce collagen and elastin. This can make the tissues sticky for 3 months potentially making facelift surgery more challenging. When injected into the deeper layers, this is not an issue as those layers are not involved during facelift surgery. Hyperdilute Radiesse stimulates collagen and elastin through a non-inflammatory process so there is less of an issue with facelift surgery.

How soon will I notice results?
